"The mountains of the world are endless ... it's up to us to discover them."
For 30 years I am trying to discover the most beautiful mountains whether skiing, climbing or mountaineering. From the Andes to the Himalayas, from the mountains of Iran to the Japanese volcanoes, huge walls of Jordanian sandstone with granite arrows of the Lotus flower in the Yukon through the great walls of Chile. But also the secret valleys of Albania, the forgotten mountains of the Chinese Altai, the coldness of Siberia ...

After returning from these many months spent abroad, I am happy to come back to my base camp at the foot of Mont Blanc, Servoz. A place to write, prepare future projects, but also work on high-performance products with Millet and then also teach ENSA future guides the passion of the profession.
Few words that define you as an athlete:
Discoverer of beautiful mountains and beautiful walls.

Few words that define you as a person :
I like reading, I like creative writing. I love beautiful homes, I am amazed at what man is able to create to live comfortably even in the most remote places. In my opinion, comfort and do not oppose. These two words have a sense together. A bivouac under the stars is like to bite a carrot, it cracks, it's raw but the pleasure of taste comes chewing. The pleasure of the bivouac is in the hours under the stars.

What are your passions besides skiing / climbing / mountaineering / trail running ?
To read, to write, to laugh with friends.

Your best and worst memory in the mountains :
The best moments are so many ... one of those was at the top of Kamet when the wind fell! Or at the top of the South Pillar of Baintha Brakk still far from the real summit, but happy to see this pillar came out! Or at the end of the 4 Inuit villages route in Greenland!
We quickly forget the hard times up there. The body and the mind work differently, one keeps, the other erases. But today I remember when I fell in the frozen lake after the collapse of the column that I climbed with a broken knee. It was 18 years ago and my body as the mind remember.

Why do you feel part of the Millet family ?
Since 1995 where I started collaborating with Millet, I participated in the product development. Each product has a story. These clothes, shoes, ropes, bags are related to beautiful climbs all around the world.

What does that mean about you, Rise Up ?
To rise, but for me it’s more to go to see what is further away. Dare the commitment.

Why do you advise people to go out in the mountains to do outdoor activities ?
Because up there the world is beautiful, one is far from the turpitudes and constraints of the society. We live a path that we trace by ourself.
Achievements & future projects
22 expeditions on summits over 7000m: Makalu II, Shisha, Kamet, Gimigela, Putha, Ratna, Baintha Brakk, 128 ski races in the 4 corners of the world.

Thousands of meters of folded and unfolded ropes, hundreds of worn vibram soles, countless bags carried. Tomorrow I will continue to discover the world from above through verticality. Surely immersing a little more in the cold lands little frequented.
